Motorola DROID RAZR HD appears in Cellebrite system

The Cellebrite system is what carriers use to move over some of the data from your old phone, like the contacts list, to your new phone. While the inclusion of a phone model in the system doesn't automatically mean that a launch is imminent, it can be a sign that a release is getting closer. Thanks to a leaked photo, we can see that third party Cellebrite machines are now showing the DROID RAZR HD as model number XT926. Verizon customers and your everyday variety DROID fans have been waiting to see what the Motorola DROID RAZR HD would look like and check out the specs.

We would imagine that any smartphone with 'HD' in its name would have to show up with a 720p display. So far, no Motorola DROID model has taken out the 4.3 inch bar that used to represent the ceiling on handsets, but now seems more like a floor. Don't be surprised to see a 4.6 inch display on the DROID RAZR HD. And if the Motorola DROID RAZR HD is going to be the high-end phone that it sounds like, we would expect to find nothing less than a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 under the hood, 1GB of ram and Android 4.0 installed. We might see a 13MP camera on the device, similar to what China got with the Motorola XT928, which also had a 4.5 inch 720p display.
Currently, Motorola and Verizon's flagship device is the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX which has been selling well thanks to the 3300mAh battery that allows the phone to run LTE all day without needing to attach an AC cord to the unit. But both the manufacturer and carrier need to catch up with the new wave of top ends phones like the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S III which both offer high resolution on large sized screens and (in the States, anyway) the zippy S4 processor.
