Sony announced in Japan its S-Series XQD memory cards capable of delivering up to 168MB/s read and write speeds. As the 32GB QD-S32 and 64GB QD-S64 use the PCI Express Gen .1 interface, users probably need a Thunderbolt card reader to get the fastest speeds on your PC.
The superfast S-Series XQDs are capable of high-speed continuous RAW shooting. According to Sony, they can handle 108 RAW shots in 10 seconds. Coming on 11 July, the QD-S32 and QD-S64 will be available for around 40,000 Yen and 60,000 Yen respectively.
