Onkyo DS-A5 iPhone/iPad Dock adds AirPlay to your AV System

Onkyo introduces its new DS-A5 iPod/iPhone/iPad docking station with AirPlay capabilities that allows owners of Onkyo receivers to enjoy benefits of wireless music streaming. Other than WiFi, the AirPlay dock also has Ethernet port for connection to a home network. With AirPlay, you can stream music wirelessly from iOS devices, including iPod touch, iPhone and iPad, as well as iTunes-equipped computers.


You may also dock your iOS devices to the DS-A5 for charging, and use optical and analog audio outputs to deliver audio signals directly to a receiver for clear sound. Composite video output is also provided for users to view photos and videos on a big screen. Thanks to (Remote Interactive), you can power up your AV system by simply starting AirPlay streaming from iOS devices. You can also control the DS-A5 using Onkyo’s remote control.

Onkyo’s DS-A5 AirPlay dock also works with AV systems, DAC, receivers from other brands. As the dock still uses the 30-pin dock connector and the 30-pin to Lightning adapter doesn’t support audio, Lightning-equipped iPhone 5, iPod touch 5th gen and iPod nano 7th gen may not compatible with the DS-A5.
It will be released in October for $199.
