FujiFilm X-S1 26x Ultra Zoom Camera Heading to the US


FujiFilm is bringing the ultra-zoom X-S1 digital camera to the US market. The new camera is equipped with a 12 Megapixel EXR CMOS image sensor offering users three modes of shooting depending on the lighting conditions, and there is also Auto EXR mode that the camera will make the choice. It also packs high-speed EXR processor to deliver minimal shutter lag, and allows high speed continuous shooting of seven fps at full resolution (Large JPEG) or 10 fps at 6 Megapixel resolution (Medium JPEG).

The X-S1, a long zoom camera, is equipped with a Fujinon 26x optical zoom lens with 24mm wide angle. It includes the Intelligent Digital Zoom technology, boosting the zoom range to 52x (24-1248mm). In addition to a 3-inch rear LCD display with Sunny Day mode, the camera also has a large 0.47-inch electronic viewfinder (EVF) with 1.44 million pixels and 26-degree viewing angle. The X-S1 includes PASM modes, Film Similation modes, RAW file support, optical image stabilization, ISO up to 12,800, 360-degree Motion Panorama mode, and 1cm macro shooting.

The FujiFilm X-S1 records 1920x1080p Full HD video with stereo sound at 30fps in H.264 format. It uses SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card and offers HDMI mini output. The camera has a finish with rubberised coating and metal dials. It will be released in January 2012 for $799.95.
