Following the successful launch of the new Lumia and Droid Razr
handsets, the bustling city of New York has hosted yet another product
launch as Fujifilm raised the curtains on their new high-end MILC — the Fujifilm X-E1.
Fujifilm equipped the X-E1with the same
16.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor as its larger and pricier counterpart
the X-Pro1 which, according to Fujifilm, is capable of delivering
resolution that is superior to other APS-C sensors, and equal to even
some full frame sensors found in popular DSLR cameras. Just like the
X-Pro1, the X-E1 makes use of a unique color filter array which aids the
camera in maximizing its high-resolution to capture a subject’s color
more accurately.
To give its users an exceptional eye-level framing, the X-E1 is equipped
with an OLED electronic viewfinder with a 2.36 million dots resolution
and 25° horizontal field of view. User can also use the camera’s 2.8”
LCD screen. However, users are better off using the camera’s EVF in
framing, considering that the LCD only has 460K dot resolution.
