With the rise of the new generation of tablets these days, the original Samsung Galaxy Tab deserves a refresh. Samsung did it with a bang in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.
Gone is the thick book-like physique and is replaced by a 7.89mm slim design with tapered edges for more easy handling. Samsung also replaced the single-core processor with a fast 1.4GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor with a Mali-400MP GPU. It will also get the tablet-friendly Android Honeycomb treatment and the cameras get a minor upgrade to 3MP at the back and 2MP in front.
However, the most notable feature of the new Galaxy Tab is the Super AMOLED Plus display on its 7.7” screen. With a high 1280 x 800 resolution, images are bound to appear exceptionally sharp with really good contrast. The physical size hasn’t really increased, it’s just that the bezel was made thinner to accommodate the increase in screen size. The 5100mah rated battery is expected to give this device up to 10 hours of video playback which combines well with the support for up to 32GB microSD.
Right now, I think this new Galaxy Tab 7.7 is going to be in the forefront of Android tablet devices in the 7-inch category for those who opts for portability. The combination of power, sleek looks and phenomenal display makes this a tablet you would definitely want to look at.
