Sony’s back again with their latest Walkman lineup in time for the holidays. We’re giving you the necessary info to get you past the cryptic naming that they use.
Sony NWZ-W262
The Sony Walkman W262 is a wearable music player that I’ve seen used by runners whenever I cover race events. This one’s the newer model which hey made more compact and lighter so it won’t look odd or uncomfortable when you wear it. They also replaced the metal screws with plastic so it won’t rust whenever you wash it. Yep, this is water-resistant and washable.
It comes with a 2GB capacity and you can transfer music from your iTunes library or any folder via drag and drop. It can deliver up to 8 hours of music playback and has a Quick Charge function that can give you an hour’s worth of music with a mere 3-minute charge.
If you don’t want any cord from a music player dangling on the side of your face while working out or running, the Walkman W262 maybe just the right device for you. SRP is Php3,499.
Sony NWZ-E460
The Walkman E460 looks like the previous-generation iPod nano but with a more funky design in five vibrant colors. It has a 2-inch QVGA LCD screen (not touchscreen) that also displays video and photos. This one comes supplied with the new EX headphones and Sony’s exclusive Clear Audio Technologies – Clear Stereo, Clear Bass Audio Technologies and Digital Sound Enhancement Engine – which restores the clarity and depth of digitally compressed music.
The NWZ-E460 series also comes with SensMe – a feature which keeps your music in tune with your mood by automatically categorizing your music tracks into different channels. It also has a Karaoke and synchronized lyrics display that allows users to load .lrc files for songs and set the lyrics to scroll in sync to the music.

Sony NWZ-A860
