I got this BlackBerry Bold 9790 unit for review last night. The BlackBerry Bold 9790 was launched last month in Indonesia alongside with the BlackBerry Curve 9380, both running the new BlackBerry 7 OS.
I’m not a QWERTY fan and the last QWERTY phone that I used was one of the earlier models of BlackBerry (remember those thumbwheels?).
I always have this impression that QWERTY phones are hard to use and navigate and I don’t feel quite comfortable holding them in my hands (not to mention the boring UI) but so far, I’ve enjoyed the last 24 hours playing around with this unit.
Unlike its predecessors, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 is thin and light-weight. It has a classy design and fits well on my hand. The rubber-like feel on the phone’s back casing and its ergonomics allows me to have a good grip on the unit. The UI is pretty much responsive and yes, did I mention that it has a touchscreen? It also has support for NFC which is a new feature in all BlackBerry smartphone models.
The BlackBerry Bold 9790 will be available early next year with an estimated price of Php23k.
Watch out for our full review next week. Meanwhile check out the specs and enjoy the photos below. Cheers!
