Samsung recently launched their Series 7 notebook named Chronos. It’s not an Ultrabook most of us would like to see but the Chronos is more of a gamer’s notebook. It is said to be the toned down version of the Samsung Series 9 which was launched early this year.
Chronos, a Macbook Pro-lookalike, sports a 15” screen and is designed for the gaming enthusiasts according to Samsung. In the launch, they set up the venue as a gaming arena to showcase the speed of this notebook. Media and bloggers had the chance to play a racing game using the Series 7 Chronos of Samsung and the top female and male racer each went home with this notebook.
Chronos features a fast two-second boot up time thanks to its express cache. It is built with a compact chassis and is 36% brighter compared to any conventional laptop in the market. The keyboard is a chiclet-type with backlighting and rubberized keys. It weighs 2.3kg/5.07lbs and is only .94mm.
I was expecting Samsung to unveil their Ultrabook considering most of its competitors already had theirs but I was wrong. According to one of the reps, their Ultrabook will be launched next year.
The naming convention will now follow what has been used for their TV’s; this year the Series 9 is the high end series and the Series 7 Chronos is the middle-end or the toned down version.
SRP of the Samsung Series 7 is PHP59,990.00 or you can avail of a 12 mos. installment for P5,825.00 per month. It’s already available in stores.
