Sony just upgraded their interchangeable lens camera portfolio by
launching the NEX-F3, which is essentially an upgrade (replacement?) to
the NEX-C3 but at a lower price point.
Having used the amazing NEX-C3, it sure can still use some
improvements which the NEX-F3 happily addressed. We’re seeing an
increase in overall bulk which is a good thing for a more natural
handling along with the now-visible grip. Then there’s the additional
built-in pop-up flash we sorely miss on the C3, and also the rear
display can now swivel upwards to 180-degree to help with those
self-portrait shots.
It still uses the impressive APS-C sensor but now with a
16.1-megapixel count which can get to a max of 16,000 ISO. It can also
take 1920 x 1080 videos at 60fps interlaced or 24fps progressive,
whereas the C3 can only shoot in 720p. There’s also a new software
feature called Auto Portrait Framing which crops portrait shots for
those who find obeying the rule-of-thirds challenging.
The Sony NEX-F3 goes for Php 27,999 which includes
an 18-55mm zoom lens, 8GB memory stick and carrying case. The price
makes it the most affordable NEX camera around and is quite
competitively priced compared to its competition.
