Introduced back in January at the CES 2012, Sony’s NSZ-GS7 Google TV Internet Player will be released on 22 July and is now available for pre-order. Running Google TV, the set-top box offers instant access to shows on live TV and streaming content. Users can use the pre-loaded TV & Movies, Netflix, Pandora apps to find contents they want easily. It also offers access to Google Play store for more apps and content. Of course, it can also play media from 8GB internal storage and USB storage devices using the two USB ports.
The NSZ-GS7 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It comes with Chrome web browser with Flash player and has Google search built-in. The player supports common media formats, including MKV/H.264, MPEG4/H.264 AVC, FLV, Xvid, ACC, MP3, WMA. For connectivity, it offers Ethernet LAN port and WiFi 802.11g/b/n. It provides HDMI output and supports Dolby Digital Plus.
Sony’s Google TV box comes with a remote control with large touchpad on one side and a backlit QWERTY keyboard on the other. The remote also sports 3-Axis motion sensor for gaming.
Sony NSZ-GS7 is priced at $199.99. Sony will also release the unit in United Kingdom in July, followed later by Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, and Mexico.
