It seems pretty damn obvious at this point, but it bears repeating – Android is the OS of choice for users in both our country, the Philippines and the folks in the US. In the good ol’ US of A, Android has managed to grab 52% of the smartphone market, with 34.3% belonging to Apple’s iOS according to the research firm Nielsen. In the Philippines, the divide is much greater – according to a report sent to us by Smart, Android now commands a whopping 82.2% of the smartphone pie, utterly cloberring all that come before it. The report was done by GfK, and apparently the report also lent another gem of information – 95% of the Android devices in the Philippines have HSPA in them, which Smart says is fueling the demand for mobile data.
