After being introduced at MWC in front of a number of high-end Android models, the Samsung Galaxy mini 2 must
have seemed like the runt of the litter. The phone has a 3.27 inch
screen with resolution of 320 x 480 and a pixel density of 176 ppi.
Under the hood is a single-core 800MHz processor. 512MB of RAM comes
with the unit. A 3MP rear-facing camera on back captures video at 480p
(25 fps) and offers geotagging of snapshots taken with the phone.
Android 2.3 is installed.
The Samsung Galaxy mini 2 is now available for pre-order from U.K. online retailer MobileFun and is priced at 179.95 GBP (approximately $280 USD). The launch is expected sometime this quarter. Even though this is not the highest spec'd handset, there are some great features that come with the model like support for NFC. Another feature that is on the unit is ChatON. This is a commuinity where owners of phones using various platforms can talk via Instant Messaging and group chats. Social Hub on the Samsung Galaxy mini 2 lets user view emails, IMs and social communication all in one in-box while Music Hub brings easy access to over 17 million tunes. Lastly, Game Hub brings users of the phone the latest in online gaming titles.
