LG is back with another 3D-capable smartphone, the Optimus 3D Max.
This is not the first time LG came out with a phone sporting a
stereoscopic camera (they had the Optimus 3D last year) but looks like
this second incarnation wants to take another shot at 3D images again.
The LG Optimus 3D Max
comes with a 4.3-inch 3D LCD display that’s protected by a Corning
Gorilla Glass 2, a dual-core TI OMAP processor (1.2GHz Cortex-A9),
PowerVR SGX540 and 1GB of RAM.
That’s basically the same chip they used on the Optimus 3D and they
just doubled the RAM. It’s now also thinner than its predecessor (9.6mm
vs. 11.9mm) and lighter (148 grams vs 168 grams).
The rest seems to be the same — exactly same display, 8GB internal
storage and dual 5MP cameras. The NFC chip is new though but it doesn’t
have the LG Tag+ with it so we may not be able to test that part.
