LG Optimus Pro and LG Optimus Net finally arrives

Trying to keep up with the competition on the number of smartphones targeting different market segment, LG introduced two new Android phones to the country: the LG Optimus Pro and the LG Optimus Net.

LG Optimus Pro

We’ve featured the LG Optimus Pro before but to give you a refresher, it’s main distinctive feature is the front portrait keyboard for those who prefer physical keys rather than onscreen ones. It has a 2.8-inch landscape display, powered by a decent 800Mhz processor and will be running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It’s important to note also that it comes with a 1500mAh battery which is commonly found in bigger smartphones.

LG Optimus Net

This smartphone looks just like other entry to mid-range Optimus phones we already have but with subtle design changes. It’s more than that though as it features the LG Social+ widget which makes this a touchscreen phone made for those who wants quick access to their social network. It’s no HTC ChaCha with the dedicated FB button but the LG Social+ widget reminds me of HTCs FriendStream which gives you access to your feeds straight from the homescreen.

The LG Optimus Net comes with a 3.2″ screen with HVGA (320 x 480) display for clearer images although the 256K color is not something to be excited about. It’s also packed with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and runs on a 800MHz processor. Priced at only Php9,990, the Optimus Net will give theSamsung Galaxy Ace a run for its money if you don’t mind the slightly smaller display screen and lower camera resolution.
