I thought this was bound to happen — Bittorent Inc and Vestel has announced a new TV that can directly download Bittorent files into the set. Obviously, it should be named Bittorent TV.
The idea is so simple I wonder why other more prominent TV brands incorporate this in their Smart TVs.

Vestel’s Bittorent TV allows for direct download and playback of files via P2P networks. So instead of having your PC or media player do that, downloading is done via a simple yet descriptive user-interface.
Once this is out in the market though, I hoping other brands will follow suit. It’s possible firmware updates to Sony, LG or Samsung’s Smart TVs can easily do this with a storage device plugged into the set.
