Tranquil PC/AVA Media is launching the new Skinny Ripper, a new media server optimized for audio ripping and storage. It is ready to stream music to networked media devices such as SONOS playback, DLNA devices, gaming consoles, HDTVs and even mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, Android phone/tablet. It provides numerous media server services including SONIS, Roku, iTunes and Samba.
The Skinny Ripper comes with 1TB hard drive pre-installed, which is enough for about 3500 CDs. All track information and album art of the CD are retrived automatically from GD3 metadata provider (lifetime subscription included).
The Skinny Ripper has a low profile design. It has two USB ports allowing you to backup your music to an exernal hard drive. The server runs embedded version of Fedora with Subsonic music streaming software pre-loaded. The price is GBP665.83.
