Sony VPL-HW50ES 3D Front Projector

Sony launches the VPL-HW50ES, a new affordable cinema-quality entertainment for any room. Based on Sony’s SXRD (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) technology, the VPL-HW50ES is built to deliver bright and sharp HD and 3D video for home theater enthusiasts. It features Full HD 1920×1080 display resolution, 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, thanks to Optimized Advanced Iris 3 algorithm and new contrast enhancer technology; and a 1700 ANSI lumens brightness.

To deliver cinema-like 3D experience with bright 3D images with reduced crosstalk, the VPL-HW50ES features Dynamic Lamp Control technology, 240Hz panel drive, and integrated 3D transmitter. It comes with 2D to 3D up-conversion algorithm to show high-def 2D content in 3D. Like the 4K VPL-VW1000ES, the 3D projector also gets Sony Reality Creation processing to digitally restores information lost during compression from the original content to disc, recreating high quality, sharp, full HD images. There are also Motionflow Technology, Block and Mosquito Noise Reduction, x.v Color technology for enhanced image quality.

The Sony VPL-HW50ES also features 1.6x manual zoom lens, and horizontal and vertical shift, and 1/10th pixel step panel alignment. For connections, it provides two HDMI input, one Component inputs, one PC input, as well as two-way RS232 and an IR input for seamless integration with third party automation systems. It comes with two 3D glasses and an additional lamp, and will be released in October for $3999.99.
